Epoxy coatings for concrete offer a wide selection of color combos. First, you have the base coat that covers the concrete which is the starting color choice. Then comes selecting flakes, granules, or micas to spread onto the epoxy. These all have their own specific attributes and come in single colors or color mixes. To finish, a clear topcoat seals everything together and protects your epoxy flooring from wear, scratches, and stains. Here are some features of each type of texture that Nevada Custom Coatings offers:
Flakes for Epoxy Flooring
Flakes are colored chips of various materials and sizes that contrast with your base coat. You may use set combinations of color flakes or design your own. With color flakes you can match a wall color, sports team colors, or logo colors – you name it, we can create it!
Micas
Color micas provide shine to a floor and really make it sparkle! Imagine how granite reflects light, and you can imagine the effect from mica. The Mayans treasured the decorative qualities of mica, adding it to some of their temples for a dazzling effect. You may use this same technique by adding mica flakes to your epoxy floor coating.
Colored Granules
If you want texture as well as color for your epoxy floor, granules are your best option. Granules are colored particles that give grip to inclined or slick concrete. If your floor undergoes a lot of spills or holds potential for slips and falls, granules offer an extra level of anti-slip, and they do it in solid colors or color possibilities.
