If Toughness is a Demand
Where excessive traffic or great demands are expected your concrete flooring should have a trowel grade epoxy application. This is the optimal technique available for maximal endurance, providing a coating with double the thickness of our typical business or residential process. Trowel grade is recommended for floors that handle a lot of weight (such as from heavy-duty forklifts), as well as where concrete contact with caustic or corrosive chemicals is common.
Trowel Grade Requirements
Since a trowel grade epoxy is much thicker than typical epoxy, it requires longer curing time. There are also recommended conditions for adding trowel grade flooring.
- Above 70 degrees Fahrenheit, each epoxy application will cure in 8-12 hours with a full 7 days recommended prior to beginning normal activities.
- Below 70 degrees Fahrenheit it takes additional time for successful curing.
- Below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, the thickness of a trowel grade epoxy coating really should not be attempted.
Given these requirements, this type of application is recommended in late spring, summer, or early fall.
Trowel grade demands real experience and skills to apply correctly. Nevada Custom Coatings has the crews and tools needed to equal the need of any industrial or commercial site. For more information about the installation of trowel grade floor epoxies, contact us online or call us at 775-772-8787.
