When Endurance is Desired
Where heavy traffic or great demands are common, the epoxy flooring needs a trowel grade application. This is the perfect method available for maximum durability, designing a coating with double the thickness of our typical residential or business process. Floors that undergo considerable loads, such as from heavy-duty forklifts, should be covered with trowel grade epoxy. Trowel grade also is suggested where concrete contact with corrosive or caustic chemicals is common.
With fatter coatings comes extra time for curing. Optimally, trowel grade epoxy is laid at temperatures of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, or above. Below that, the epoxy, with its clear coat, takes more time to cure. Ordinary curing time is 8-12 hours for each coating. The complete cure, when average activities can begin again, is after 7 days. Below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, trowel grade epoxies are best not tried.
Trowel grade coatings are not for do-it-yourselfers! Experience and skills are needed, as well as high end troweling tools. That’s why Nevada Custom Coatings is here for clients in Hidden Valley to bring the correct materials and staff to do the job if trowel grade coatings are wanted.
